Solutions to problems are many things, like resources, jobs, needed outcomes, experiences or journeys using computers. To use strict digital terms - all these fit into inputs, processes and outputs. For digital transformation journeys, short and long, we are largely interested in outputs. Inputs exist in planning and doing (PDCA). Outputs manifest in checking (C-observations, visualizations, listening, taking measurements...) and acting (A-startegizing, learning, deciding, continuing, repeating, changing...) expressed as (PDCA). When taken to market and/or handed to marketing departments, outputs will have turned into solutions and could further be categorized into:
(1) Products and Services for the citizenry in markets;
(2) Information and Insights for the "employee" owners, professionals and technologists; and
(3) Stakeholder Centric Journeys for us all to take production and consumption... to the next cycles of designs and productions.
To reiterate, these are the production cycle's contributions to the market and to digital transformation. For a continuously learning organization, the market (of clients, customers, regulators, employees, techs and all...) may be and are politely and continuously prompted for genuine/correct complaints, reviews, maintenance... in preparation for upcoming monthly cycle improvements, refinements, introductions, retirements...
